SUMMER STAGE, THURSDAY NIGHTS - Wells Gray Lively Arts
Weekly live music, rain or shine. Family friendly grassy field with a large playground. Bring a chair or blanket, and maybe an umbrella.
AUG. 8 The Barn Cats - 5 piece old time country dance band
AUG. 15 Zonnis - Versatile duet. Folk, rock, blues & musical comedy. They're on their way to perform at the Robson Valley Music Festival
AUG. 22 Suz & Jonny - Hot Blues & Rock duo. 4th place finisher on Canadian Idol (Suzi Rawn). Unforgettable performers
AUG. 29 Yale County Jug Band. 4 piece highly entertaining alternative country/ folk with a side of comedy. 2 guitars, acoustic bass, washboard. Many original tunes.
CLEARWATER CHILDREN'S ART FESTIVAL - Thursday, August 8, 2019
Calling all kids! This fantastic festival is perfectly catered to delight any child. From music, to fun crafts and zany activities. A full day of delights for the whole family. Bring your family to enjoy this FREE and well-loved event right in the heart of Clearwater at the Dutch Lake Community Centre field. 10AM- 2 PM.
The Dark Skies of Wells Gray Park are the ideal setting for viewing the summer Perseid Meteor showers and the Milky Way. Stretch out and enjoy a vintage sci-fi movie under the sky. All are welcome to enjoy a BC PARKS Astronomer presentation before scouting for meteors in the night sky through a 16" telescope!
Time: 8:45 PM doors open, 9:00 PM Movie, 10:30 Astronomer presentation and Stargazing. FREE!
MOONLIGHT MOVIE NIGHT- Wednesday, August 21, 2019
Featuring "Spider-man: Into the Spider-Verse at the Clearwater Secondary School. By donation. Concession and Activities at 7:00PM. Film starts at dusk.
All proeeeds benefit youth programs. Suggested donation $3 per person or $10 per family.
CANDLE CREEK HALF MARATHON - AUGUST 24, 2019
Clearwater’s 1st Annual Candle Creek Half Marathon will be held August 24, 2019 at the Wells Gray Outdoors Club Candle Creek trail system.
This new and exciting race promises to engage and attract locals and visitors to experience a fun race day in Clearwater. The race will have something for everyone as it consists of a kids, 5km, 10km, and 21 km courses which participants can run or walk. The unique terrain of the Candle Creek trail system will also offer challenging and scenic terrain for serious runners. The trails wind through old growth inland rainforest and can offer views overlooking the expanse of the North Thompson Valley. The race is being hosted by the Wells Gray Outdoors Club with partnership and support from many local businesses and organizations. Learn more here.
